odt2braille will be presented at Braille21
We are happy to announce that odt2braille will be presented at the World Congress Braille21 – Innovations in Braille in the 21st Century, hosted by the German Central Library for the Blind (DZB). The congress will take place from 27 to 30 of September 2011 at the University of Leipzig.

AEGIS at LibreOffice Conference 2011
AEGIS partner K.U. Leuven will present a paper on their AEGIS work at the forthcoming LibreOffice Conference (Paris, France) on 12-15 October, 2011. It will be the event for those interested in the development of free office productivity software, open standards, and the OpenDocument format generally, and is an exciting opportunity to meet Community members, developers and hackers. The Conference facilities are spread over two locations: La Cantine: La Cantine is an unique meeting place for innovators, researchers, IT entrepreneurs and FOSS projects. La Cantine is the nexus of many ongoing IT projects and innovations around Paris. IRILL (Free Software Research Institute): This institute is a research laboratory of the French University Paris Diderot and the INRIA. It has conference rooms and will host the ODF Master Class and the Marketing Track.

Accessibility Camp at OCAD
Join developers, designers, user experience professionals, end-users with disabilities and others to share and learn about all aspects of technology accessibility and users with disabilities at the 1st Accessibility Camp Toronto. Canadian testing of AEGIS RTT prototype
Members of the RIM team ran a usability study with the Canadian Hearing Society and persons with hearing loss using AEGIS RTT (Real Time Text) prototype on BlackBerry smartphones, as compared to using IM (BlackBerry Messenger) and Push Email (BlackBerry E-Mail) to identify user preferences. Results will be made available shortly.
